My goal one day is to be the first Honduran to win an Oscar and a Palme D'Or.

Believe it!
My name is Valeria Castro, but you can call me Vale. I was born and raised in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. In 2021, I moved to the United States to pursue my passion for visual storytelling. I began my studies at Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama, where I actively wrote, directed, and filmed a variety of student projects—from horror shorts and poetic documentaries to music videos and comedies. In August 2024, I transferred to Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven, Georgia, where I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Media & Film Studies, graduating Cum Laude. Although my time at Oglethorpe was brief, I was able to excel in my film work, earning recognition at the university’s Last Looks Film Festival, where I won Best Promotional Film.
